#430156 1803 heavy sterling silver party bowl by Philip Rundell, one of the more important English silversmiths of late Georgian time. It has a Rampant Horse, the symbol of Kent and its logo INVICTA (undefeated). From 1799 until 1820 Kent was part of Royal Dukedom of Kent and ruled by King George III forth son Prince Edward Augustus, father of future Queen Victoria. Considering that Philip Rundell’s firm was official “Jewelers and Goldsmiths to the King” and they executed many orders from British Royal Family, could this vessel be made for the Price Edward? Quite possible. Very heavy, 2,654 gram. 15.5” x 10” and 8.5” tall, fully hallmarked PR, lion to the l, Lion’s head, H (1803), King George III head, very good condition, comes with small article about Philip Rundells work
